Parking Spots Instead of Storefronts at South Slope Resi Development

A residential building going up at 236 17th St in South Slope will have no ground-floor retail space due to a requirement to have 12 parking spaces—the exact number required for the site by the city. Permits say the developer is Nick Malafis of North South Slope LLC. But signs at the site say the developer is Prospect Construction Corp. Either way, NY YIMBY reports, it’ll have 17 units and a total of 20k SF. At 1,200 SF per unit, the smart money bets the finished product will be condos. [NY YIMBY]
