Yeah, Tribeca is awesome. Sure, Battery Park has its charms. But of all the city’s booming enclaves, Dumbo tops the list for the hottest neighborhood in 2015, based on a StreetyEasy analysis of prices and population over the past 10 years, the NY Post reports. Dumbo’s development bonanza is expected to hit even greater highs next year and bleed east into Vinegar Hill.
David Walentas, the developer behind Two Trees, is largely credited with transforming the deserted waterfront zone into some of the city’s priciest real estate. Median sales price is nearly $1.5M and climbed 50 percent in 2014; rents are north of $4,300. Other than Dumbo and Vinegar Hill, notable hot spots for 2015 include Battery Park City, West Harlem, and Jamaica, Queens.
