NEW HOTEL CONCEPT

We chatted with IHG VP Robert Ekman during ICSC in Las Vegas, who gave us a peek at the hotel chain's new Even Hotels concept: A limited-service hotel with a focus on patron health, including a spa and “significant” fitness facility. (That could just mean no elevators. Better call ahead.) IHG plans to debut these new hotels—100 to 150 rooms each—in NY, DC, and Boston beginning in 2013. It’ll be priced similar to a Courtyard or a Hilton Garden Inn.
