The WTC Observation Deck Runner-Up

Montparnasse’s 2010 bid to design and operate the 1 WTC observation deck (it lost to Legends) got the French company (Paris’ Montparnesse Tower and Berlin’s TV Tower) interested in the US. Having built a team for 1 WTC, the company found another way to break into the US: It joined the team taking on the distressed debt for Chicago’s Hancock Tower and eventually bought the building’s observation deck from a Deutsche Bank-led venture.
