WatermanClark Hires Former Related Exec To Serve As New Firm’s COO

Former top Related Cos. executive Jennifer McCool has joined WatermanClark’s C-suite.

McCool, who was announced as the nascent company’s new chief operating officer Thursday, left her position as executive vice president at Related in November, according to her LinkedIn page.

"I am excited to join an outstanding team of professionals led by two of the most talented and creative executives in real estate,” McCool said in a release. “I look forward to leveraging my experience and expertise to add value to the platform as a member of the WatermanCLARK team.”

McCool exited Related around the same time that Ric Clark stepped back at Brookfield to found WatermanClark, a New York retail and office-centric firm, with Phillip “Tod” Waterman, who previously ran Waterman Interests, which was rolled up into the new firm.

McCool also served as Related's chief legal officer. She began her career in real estate as an attorney and spent six years at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, according to her LinkedIn page.

McCool handled an $850M opportunity fund at Related, and she was named one of Bisnow’s Power Women in 2014.

“Jen has led teams that were responsible for all transactional aspects of leasing, capital raising, financings, joint ventures, and acquisitions and will be a strong addition to our leadership team and valuable resource as we grow the Company,” Clark and Waterman, the two co-managing partners, said in a joint statement.
