GREEN SCENE: TWO-WHEELED APPROACH

If you're an avid biker, you might want to consider moving your office to White Plains' Gannett Office Park—owner Heritage Realty Services is turning it into a two wheel-friendly campus, installing a brand new bicycle shelter designed in-house by LEED AP staffer Kira Hajosch. The firm built the bicycle shelter after the town of Harrison called for more businesses to install places for riders to store their bikes, and Heritage decided to follow a design similar to Mayor Bloomberg's initiative in New York City.

The firm is already planning to install another shelter within Gannett Office Park, and will consider them elsewhere as it acquires more properties, George says. Bonus: if you're going for LEED certification, bicycle storage with shower and changing facilities can rack you up a point.
