| AIG's Jennifer Marko (VP), CushWake's Dale Schlather (chair), and Prudential Financial's Kathy Winkler (president) tell us the chapter expanded by 35 to 595 members in three months and its new goal is 625 (it's already the largest chapter in CoreNet's network). Given the market, it also has a member-in-transition program with subsidized dues, reduced program costs, and a job bank. They say it's important for members to learn and improve skills while not employed, as it increases their employment value. |
| We snapped this of 580 CoreNet members and friends at its sold-out annual dinner at MoMA last Thursday. Key initiatives the chapter is working on include continued education on sustainability (which the chapter adopted eight years ago), discussing workplace strategy in regards to organizational behavior and space use, connecting corporate service providers and end users, and exploring the newer trend of corporate movement from closed environments to open spaces. The chapter also recently launched an initiative involving three new communities—Strategy and Portfolio Planning, Sustainability, and Women—where members will have expanded opportunities to network and share knowledge with similarly-focused industry professionals. |
