A new development at 460 West 41st St in Hell’s Kitchen will include the new HQ for Covenant House, a homeless youth shelter, as well as a residential component that’ll be 40% affordable. Covenant House’s current HQ sits on the site now. A letter from members of Community Board 4 asked the EDC and Dept of Housing Preservation & Development to mandate that half the affordable units be two-bedroom or larger and require that the units be permanently affordable, reports DNAInfo. Plans also include an easement for a ventilation building for the 7 Train extension, and allow space for a 41st Street station to be built near the site.
