Thousands of office tenants across North America will soon have access to up-to-the-minute transit information on screens in their buildings.

Captivate, a digital media company with display screens in the lobbies and elevators of 1,600 office buildings, announced Tuesday it is partnering with TransitScreen to add public transit information to its platform.

TransitScreen, a D.C.-based company founded in 2013, displays information on trains, buses, bike-share, car-share and ride-hailing services on its screens in office buildings, apartments and public places.

Founded in 1997, Captivate displays news, sports, weather and other information on its elevator and lobby screens that it says reach 13 million monthly unique viewers. The company said property managers typically purchase a separate product to show transit information, so the partnership with TransitScreen will help streamline all the information tenants need into one screen.

"We strive to deliver amenities to our real estate partners that will increase the value of their property and can assist in tenant attraction and retention," Captivate Vice President of Product Management & Strategy Alice Gogh said in a release. "This alliance will ease the tenant burden of unpredictable public transportation changes, particularly during rush hour."
