HQ Brings Real Estate and Private Equity Under New Name

The HQ Group is consolidating. Both Auda, HQ’s private equity firm, and Real Estate Capital Partners, its real estate investment company, will now be operating under the new HQ Capital brand, creating a leading global independent alternative investment manager with more than $12B under management. Meanwhile, HQ’s German mid-cap buyout firm, Equita, will act as a subsidiary of HQ Capital and add the HQ title to its name. HQ Capital CEO Ernest Boles believes the merger will create a broader investment program while untapping new growth opportunities. Going forward, the Frankfurt, Germany (pictured)-based company will invest in a wide range of asset classes across the country, including multifamily, residential, office, industrial, hotel and mixed-use. Investment strategies range from core and value-add acquisitions to JV developments. [GS]
