DC: Sustainable ROI?

Fairfax, Va.-based architectural and design firm Dewberry's Lidia Berger (second from left) said LEED certification isn't just about getting the plaque anymore. (Though it's still nice to have something to hold up against your children's soccer trophies.) More and more owners are performing specific analysis on how it affects returns, and Lidia has even implemented a valuation called "Sustainable ROI" to monetize the cash and non-cash benefits of LEED. Speaking yesterday at CREW DC's state of sustainability panel, we snapped her on the panel with moderator Jim Davis of Davis Construction, JBG's Tony Greenberg, the USGBC's Judith Webb, and Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Sally Wilson.
