WeWork Gears Up For Its First South American Expansion

WeWork is getting ready to expand into Brazil and Argentina and is scouting properties in other Latin American countries.

The firm’s most recent valuation tops off at $16B, and to prove that lofty worth, WeWork is expanding quickly, with plans to open one location in Buenos Aires on May 1, two locations in São Paulo in June and one in Rio de Janeiro before the year’s end, Bloomberg reports. WeWork has 143 locations spread internationally across 35 cities.

While WeWork has already expanded into Latin America with two Mexico City operations that opened last year, the firm has not yet broken ground in South America. Along with the locations mentioned above, WeWork is considering sites in Lima, Peru, and Bogotá, Colombia. [Bloomberg]
