A Virginia colo provider is branching out into Atlanta for its first foray outside the Beltway. Herdon-based Edgeconnex has purchased 1003 Donnelly Ave – a 36k SF dormant former data center in the south end of the City of Atlanta, and along a rich fiber trunk line that feeds big names like Verizon and Level 3 data centers. Richard Bowers & Co's Tarkenton Thompson (on right with his nephew) marketed the former Global NAPS facility for sale, with CBRE's Wendy McArthur brokering the deal for Edgeconnex. The colo provider purchased the facility for $600k, or $16.76/SF.
