6 New Nashville Hotels Underway

Now's a golden age of hotel development in Nashville, including major luxe chains, independent branches of major chains, up-and-coming boutiques, historic renovations and more. Here's a scorecard of current projects; data courtesy of Visit Music City.

Thompson Hotel

Location: 11th & 12th Avenues and Pine Street

Completion: July '16

Lowdown: The 12-story, 224-room luxe Thompson Nashville has renowned neighbors on its block from the get-go: The Station Inn and the 404 Hotel and Kitchen.

Tribute Portfolio by Starwood

Location: 4th Ave N and Church Street

Completion: December '16

Lowdown: Downtown’s Noel Place will become one of the new independent brand Tribute Portfolio from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, featuring 226 rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, and a speakeasy.

Utopia Hotel

Location: 4th Avenue N

Completion: December '16

Lowdown: This Printer’s Alley building has been a hotel before, but that was back in the 1890s. The developers of the 170-room Utopia will preserve the original trim and mold, light fixtures and Tennessee pink marble.

Westin Nashville Hotel

Location: 100 Clark Place

Completion: December '16

Lowdown: The Westin Nashville Hotel will rise 27 stories in SoBro, and include a 6k SF spa, a restaurant and rooftop bar.

21c Museum Hotel

Location: 222 3rd Ave North

Completion: January '17

Lowdown: 21c Museum Hotel's a hotel and a museum for 21st-century art, with its first location in renovated tobacco and bourbon warehouses in Louisville (pictured). The Nashville location will be a 115-room luxe hotel in Downtown's historic 222 Building, which dates from the 1890s.

Kimpton Hotel

Location: 204 21st Ave S

Completion: March '17

Lowdown: The 180-room upscale boutique hotel will anchor the $100M mixed-used Buckingham Midtown development.
