Bolton could be about to get its first skyscraper.

A 30-storey residential tower is being proposed by Bolton Regeneration for a site at Trinity Street. The scheme will also include a 500-space car park and 30K SF of new office floorspace as part of a £48M scheme.

The development would form part of Bolton Council's £1B masterplan to transform the town centre, North West Business Insider report.

Bolton Regeneration is also behind plans to revive the town's Crompton Place Shopping Centre.

In a separate move plans have been revealed for a 258-apartment scheme.

The residential development, proposed by Bolton-based company Forshaw, will be built on land fronting St. Georges Road between Bark Street and Back Bark Street.

“This project will set a new benchmark for high-quality residential schemes in Bolton town centre," Forshaw Managing Director Lyndon Forshaw said.

“We anticipate this will be the first of several schemes to come forward in coming months and years which will ultimately help to revive the town-centre economy.”

Bolton Council is working with investors and developers on its ambitious £1B blueprint which will see five key areas redeveloped in the heart of the town centre. The commercial heart of the scheme is Muse Development's £150M redevelopment of Church Wharf. A public consultation on the proposal for a first phase of 320 homes took place in January.
