Legal action is being weighed against approval of the $1.2B One Beverly Hills (rendering above) due to Beverly Hills' former mayor's lobbying on behalf of Chinese developer The Wanda Group.

Sacramento attorney Gary Winuk has written a letter to city officials, threatening to take legal action.

The attorney stated former mayor Barry Brucker is in violation of the "revolving door" ordinance, which does not allow former city officials to lobby on behalf of a project they previously voted on while serving in their positions, according to the LA Times.

One Beverly Hills, which consists of a luxury hotel and condos, is being built in the former Robinson's May location at 9900 Wilshire Blvd near the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards.

Brucker denies any wrongdoing and has resigned from lobbying for The Wanda Group as of July 6.

When he voted in favor of the project eight years ago as mayor, the site was being developed by another developer.

Approval for the project is in the hands of the Beverly Hills City Council. [LAT]
