Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens Gets Neighboring $45M Hotel

A new $45M, 117k SF Bicycle Hotel opened yesterday in Bell Gardens adjacent to the Bicycle Casino, the second-largest card club in California with 185 tables for poker and other card games.

The seven-story hotel has 99 guest rooms and 29 luxury suitesAmenities include a fitness center, outdoor pool deck, a spa and sauna, as well as a Bike Brewery that features 28 beers on tap; a skybar; a bakery; and an Asian-inspired restaurant aimed at attracting the local community, which is heavily Asian, while serving hotel guests.

Currently privately owned and operated by Bicycle Hotel & Casino LLC, the casino has a colorful history, according to GlobeSt. The federal government seized the facility in 1991, when a jury found that $12M of the $22M used to build it was provided by Florida drug smugglers. After operating it for five years, the government sold its share of the casino to a British gambling company. [GS
