While at Allen Matkins, we ventured with senior partner Rick Mallory into his office in our perpetual quest to find the human side of real estate icons. Here’s a New Year’s picture from 80 years ago, where Rick points to his then 19-year old dad, Mason Mallory, big band leader holding forth at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Is music in Rick’s blood? Yes, he’s the cool dude (at least by 1973 standards) in the blue ruffled shirt escorting his (first) bride, a singer with Lawrence Welk, left, who knowing Rick apparently saw the need to ask Lawrence to chaperone her at the wedding.
