Oscar-worthy Offices

CBRE's spiffy new offices in Downtown LA continue to draw eyes (or should that be ayes?). The latest accolade came on Friday, when the firm's Global HQ garnered the Work Medium award for office projects between 20k SF and 50k SF in the International Interior Design Association's 26th Annual Calibre Awards. CBRE Greater LA and Orange County president Lew Horne accepted the award with Gensler. CBRE's 48k SF HQ, which houses about 200 employees, competed against 12 other projects.

Sharing some well-deserved time in the spotlight were CBRE’s Project Management and Workplace Strategy teams, Knoll, Steelcase, and Taslimi Construction. The Calibre Awards, known as the Academy Awards of interior architecture (without having to worry if your movie will get knocked out of the top spot by Neighbors), honors the collaboration between designers, dealers and manufacturers that result in exceptional projects.

Bisnow's Sean Spear snapped Wirt Design Group president Jeff Wirt and colleague (and IIDA prez) David Fridlund, winner of the Work Large category. They're flanking Mohawk Group's Kelsey Myatt and WOLCOTT's Scott Johnson, IIDA past president. The black-tie gala at the Hyatt Regency Century City drew 1,000 attendees. Kudos to all!
