Circa Towers Unveils LED Display Board Ahead Of Opening

With its massive 18K SF LED display, Circa Towers is ready to light up Los Angeles.

The highly anticipated $500M mixed-use twin tower development at 1200 South Figueroa St. is slated to open by the end of summer.

“This is so much more than a mixed-use development; it’s an iconic destination that will make every visitor feel the sense of excitement that should come with being in Downtown LA,” Hankey Investment Co. President Scott Dobbins said in a news release.

Hankey Investment is one of four investors that own 1200 Circa LLC. Jamison Services Inc., Falcon California Investments and Highlands Capital Inc. are the other owners.

Harley Ellis Devereaux architects designed Circa Towers, which will have 648 luxury rental units and 48K SF of retail space within 35-story twin towers built on 2.7 acres. HansonLA is the interior designer.

Once opened, Circa Towers will serve as an anchor property and complement the other mainstay buildings in the sports and entertainment district, which is home to LA Live, Staples Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Dobbins previously told Bisnow the area is seeing a rebirth.

With more than 10 million annual visitors to the area, officials hope the video display board, which is attached and wraps around Circa Tower’s seven-level parking structure facing Figueroa, could energize the neighborhood.

Harley Ellis Devereaux's Roy Reel said the display board — designed by HED — is the largest and most prominent animated signage display in the Figueroa sports and entertainment area.

“It is a truly unique sight,” Reel said. “The two gleaming towers and the video display is a big addition to the downtown skyline.”
