Husband and wife team Frances and Alec Kiradjian run the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association, now 750 members strong, which put on its fourth annual conference Wednesday through today at the Fairmont Miramar, where we snapped them yesterday afternoon. The sessions featured 70 speakers on the state of the niche (answer: great). Frances founded the organization in 2009 to bring together small brands following her 25 years in hotel marketing and distribution. How'd she get the travel bug? Her brother told her there was nothing else in life—and she's been on the case ever since.
