Bisnow's first-ever Houston Power Women event is this Wednesday! Before the event, we're highlighting the honorees. Our next honoree is Transwestern Executive Vice President Michelle Wogan.

Wogan directs Transwestern Houston's office leasing team. As one of the firm's top producers over the last 14 years, Wogan has established herself in the fast-paced world of office leasing, executing over 1,000 transactions equal to 100M SF and over $1.2B.

Bisnow: Who was the first person to teach you how to be business savvy?

Wogan: My mom.

Bisnow: What is the biggest challenge for the next generation of women?

Wogan: Finding a good mentor to learn from and work hard to bring value to the team.

Bisnow: What do you think is the most significant barrier to female leadership?

Wogan: Fear of saying "I can do it."

Bisnow: What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

Wogan: Empower the people around you to lead and encourage collaboration, thoughtfulness and teamwork.

Bisnow: What are the most important decisions you make as a leader of your organization?

Wogan: Decisions that will empower our team to think outside the box, create new ideas and produce positive results in a healthy environment.
