Will Houston's grocer wars ever end? Kroger's pipeline shows no signs of slowing down, with 12 new stores, 30 remodels and 13 new fuel centers on the drawing board for 2015 and 2016. Kroger Southwest division president Bill Breetz tells the Houston Business Journal that it's spending $500M over the next three years to expand its Houston presence. Bill says that amount is unheard of in other markets and is directly related to Houston's ultra-competitive grocery industry. [HBJ]
