Houston has taken to the sky to make its pitch for Amazon's HQ2 to Jeff Bezos. On Friday, a small plane pulling a banner that read "Jeff, Houston Is Calling" followed by a link to the pitch was spotted flying over Amazon's home base, Seattle. Houston's Generation Park, a 4,000-acre commercial development in Northeast Houston, is behind the high-flying pitch.
Amazon has received 238 proposals from 54 states and provinces for its HQ2, but this is the first to include a flyover. Amazon said it will need approximately 8M SF for its new facility that is expected to employ 50,000 workers over the next decade.
