Houston-based female- and LGBTQIA+-focused coworking office Sesh Coworking will move into a 20K SF Midtown location next month.

The new location at 2808 Caroline St. is nearly 10 times the size of its old Montrose-area location, Sesh said, and it will have 25 offices, three conference rooms, four phone booths, an amphitheater, a library, a demo kitchen, pop-up retail, a locker room with showers, and spaces for interactive art.

Sesh has grown its membership 500% in two years, Jenny Gustafson of Like Minds Communications told Bisnow, with triple the requests for offices, necessitating a larger space. Sesh credits the growth in part to people making career pivots amid Covid-19.

"Being able to grow our community at our beautiful original location in Montrose through the pandemic is a testament to the grit and resilience of Houstonians. We are so honored and grateful to be a part of their journey,” Sesh co-founder Maggie Segrich said in a release. “We are excited that our new location in Midtown, near the Innovation District, will provide more Houstonians with the workspace and support they need."

Memberships range from $69 per month to access events and two-day passes a month and $199 for a monthly pass to a new $789-a-month rate for private offices.

Sesh designed the space with developer The Deal Co. with an emphasis on making it a welcoming place for women and LGBTQIA+ individuals. The focus on the LGBTQIA+ community means Sesh advertises itself as a safe and inclusive space, emphasizes diversity in its own hiring, provides resources for the community and showcases artwork during Pride Month, among other measures.

The company crowdfunded its goal of $40K for the space and also received grant money from the Texas Women’s University Center for Women Entrepreneurs.

Sesh, along with SheSpace, is among the rare women-owned and focused coworking spaces based in Houston.
