New Google-Inspired Office Makes One Of Houston's Best Places To Work That Much Better

Over the past few years, Heavy Construction Systems Solutions (HCSS) has been rated as one of Houston's best places to work. With the completion of its new office building in Sugar Land, it's upped its game. Designed by Studio RED and built by Rosenberger Construction, the 15k SF office boasts several unique elements, like the adult slide pictured above.

The climbing rope net helps HCSS to create a fun, energetic atmosphere that is a place its employees love and a showpiece to visitors.

The building is organized into pods that accommodate six to eight employees and promote flexible teaming and collaboration in spaces with furniture that can be modified to reflect job function and personality.

The building has several sustainable design solutions, like being sited to allow for as much ambient daylight as possible while reducing screen glare, requiring very little artificial light. The roof and parking area also have rainwater harvesting to irrigate the surrounding landscape.
