Houston To Welcome US HQ Of International Energy Tech Co

Hive, a maker of smart thermostats, is opening its first US HQ in Houston in 12 Greenway Plaza. The office will occupy 8k to 9k SF of the 254k SF building, reports the Houston Business Journal. Building permits indicate the cost of the build-out from Byrd Interior Construction will be $550k. Hives' parent company, British Gas, is owned by UK-based Centrica PLC, which also owns Direct Energy, a tenant of nearly 192k SF in 12 Greenway. Byrd Interior Construction's Buddy LeBlanc said the Hive space will be an extension of Direct Energy's space[HBJ]
