Starwood's Element Hotels To Expand In Texas

Starwood plans to open five new eco-friendly hotels in the Lone Star State by the end of 2018. Houston’s location, Element Katy, will feature 135 guest rooms, 2,500 SF of meeting space and a fitness center, according to the Houston Business Journal.

The hotel will be in the Grand Crossing mixed-use development, which will have about 15 acres for multifamily development, 300k SF of office space and at least 500k SF of retail space.

Element Katy is slated to open in March 2018.

Element Dallas Love Field will open in February 2017 and the Element Dallas East will open its doors in July 2018. The company will then debut in the Austin and San Antonio markets in August.

Starwood also expects to add nine new Aloft Hotels in Texas, with three of them in Houston. [HBJ]
