In RiNo, River North Investment Co broke ground this week on Backyard on Blake, a mixed-used redevelopment of a 12.5k SF warehouse dating from the '30s. River North principal Fiona Arnold tells us that the property will accommodate creative business owners, who’ve been flocking to RiNo in recent years, by offering smaller office, studio, and retail space (eventually there will be a residental component). Not only that, the design will open up the site so that the commercial space will be built around a park and courtyard, adding some badly needed green space to the neighborhood, Fiona says.
