The Denver Tennis Park is now open for play.

PCL Construction recently completed metro Denver’s first publicly accessible youth-centered indoor/outdoor tennis facility at 1560 South Franklin St., adjacent Denver Public Schools All City Stadium complex.

“This is a tremendous addition to the Denver tennis community, as well as to student athletes for the Denver Public Schools and Denver University,” PCL Project Manager Kerri Block said. “PCL is proud to deliver an outstanding tennis complex to the people supporting this effort and everyone who plays — or wants to learn to play a great lifelong sport. As a company, we have completed numerous outstanding sports complexes, and this was another opportunity for us to provide athletes with a place where they can compete and enjoy the sport they love.”

The $13.8M tennis park, which has seven indoor courts and six outdoor courts, will be operated by Denver Tennis Park Inc., a nonprofit organization that’s mission is to foster whole child development for youth of all ages and abilities. The tennis park is a collaboration between the nonprofit, the University of Denver and Denver Public Schools.

In addition to building the tennis center, the project also included regrading part of the surrounding athletic fields to divert storm runoff to a new 48,000-cubic-foot underground detention system. The main All City parking lot was replaced, and all three parking lots at the site received safety, access and aesthetic enhancements.
