New CEO Named For Plano-Based Office Developer Granite Properties

One of Dallas-Fort Worth’s most prolific office developers is getting a new CEO.

Senior Managing Director Will Hendrickson will succeed Michael Dardick as CEO of Granite Properties beginning Jan. 1, the company announced in a release Monday morning. Dardick will continue with the company as executive chairman.

Hendrickson started with Granite as an investment analyst in 2003 but has been leading the Dallas office in his current role for six years. During that time, he oversaw the development of office parks in Southlake and Plano as well as 23Springs, a 26-story, 626K SF office tower underway in Uptown.

The company also acquired McKinney and Olive, a 557K SF mixed-use tower in Uptown, as part of a $395M joint venture deal with North Carolina-based Highwoods Properties at the close of last year.

“I’m honored to serve as Granite’s next CEO,” Hendrickson said in a statement. “I look forward to working with our talented team to continue delivering the highest quality office space to our customers and creating value with our partners.”

Dardick launched Granite Properties in 1991 with the Schusterman family, which made its name in the oil and gas industry.

Since its founding, the Plano-based company has completed over 30M SF of developments and acquisitions across Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Southern California, Boston and Nashville.

“I’m excited about my new role as executive chairman,” Dardick said in a statement. “It’s an honor to work with such talented and dedicated people every day. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together navigating the ever-evolving real estate industry while always putting the experience of our customers first.”

Senior Director of Investments Paul Bennett will replace Hendrickson as senior managing director in the Dallas office.

Other promotions include Bill Brown, who will add the title of president while continuing to serve as chief investment officer, and Jason Purvis, who is a senior managing director and the Southern California market leader but will also become head of capital raising.

Greg Fuller, Scott Martin and Sheryl Troiani will continue as chief operating officer, executive managing director and chief administrative officer, respectively.
