New Logistics Hub To Land In North Dallas Suburb Of McKinney

The north Dallas suburb of McKinney has nabbed a major industrial project: Atlanta-based Core5 Industrial Partners is breaking ground on a 65-acre logistics site.

McKinney is drawing major groundbreakings like this because it is one of the last North Dallas suburbs with significant industrial space and room for growth until the market eventually moves farther north toward the Oklahoma border in search of more land.

The company's Core5 Logistics Center, which sits off North McDonald and is bordered by Wilmeth and Bloomdale in McKinney, kicked off its first phase of construction last month. The initial phase of development includes the build-out of two buildings totaling 437K SF of industrial space.

Dallas-based Citadel Partners spent the past nine months helping Core5 locate adequate land for its logistics site. The company picked McKinney when it became clear the North Dallas suburb offered the right mix of available land and amenities.

McKinney, unlike other DFW industrial markets, has room left for large-scale industrial development and hosts one of DFW's few regional airports for cargo transport.

“With the limited availability of large blocks of industrial space in what have been the typical ‘go-to’ markets in north Dallas, Core5 saw this area in McKinney as meeting all the essential access and infrastructure requirements of large-scale, Class-A industrial space," Citadel founding partner Scott Jessen said in a statement.

“We’re very pleased to be their leasing representative and seeing that construction is now underway.”
