Collin County To Get Another Conference Center With Craig Ranch’s New Plans

The McKinney master planned development Craig Ranch is in the early stages of bringing a Marriott Autograph Collection resort and conference center to north Collin County. Craig Ranch officials outlined the development in a joint meeting with McKinney City Council and McKinney Community Development Corp. on April 18. 

The proposal marks the second new convention center in Collin County. Earlier this month, Allen broke ground on its convention center and attached Delta by Marriott hotel.

The proposed 285-key hotel and 33K SF of event space on the eight-acre site on the corner of Collin McKinney Parkway and Weiskopf Avenue within Craig Ranch would open in Q4 2019. The Marriott hotel would be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality. Amenities include a lazy river, an adult pool, outdoor fire pits, valet parking and access to the TPC golf course and Cooper Fitness Center & Spa. 

Aimbridge Hospitality president and CEO Dave Johnson said the city’s participation is the first in a series of steps to bring this resort to fruition. Aimbridge hopes to announce the developer soon, Johnson said.
