Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton plans to build a $128M building to house new surgical suites, operating rooms and labor and delivery units for women in Denton County.
Denton has been booming and its growth is expected to accelerate. Denton County saw net in-migration of 96,000 between 2013 and 2018, the third-highest total for a county in the nation.
The hospital expects deliveries in the county to grow by 40% over the next 10 years, prompting the facility to commit to constructing a 160K SF building for women and infants.
“As the sole provider of OB and NICU services in Denton, we are especially excited to build a new facility for our patients,” Texas Health Denton President Jeff Reecer said.
The building will offer 12 labor and delivery rooms, 30 postpartum and antepartum beds, two surgical suites for C-sections, a breast center, spaces for physical therapy, cardiac services, and sleep and support services.
The project will expand emergency department beds to 38 total.
The hospital opened a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in February and expects to open the latest phase in mid-2022.
