Trendy West Dallas Lures More Multifamily

Why was now a good time for Henry S Miller to start its Cliffview upscale apartment homes 1001 Seale St? HSM’s Bill Bush tells us it's a neighborhood in transition, as Oak Cliff character established by the Kessler Park chi-chi developments meets the popular Bishops Arts venues. Bill (pictured with daughter, Haley) tells us the 318-unit complex--on more than four acres--is on the cliffs west of the Belmont Hotel, near the intersection of Sylvan and Fort Worth avenues. It's designed by Good Fulton & Farrell and should start construction this fall with a late 2015 completion targeted.

Bill calls this sector of West Dallas "energized" by the City of Dallas’ Grow South initiative, which supports new developments with incentives, including a private investment fund for South Dallas projects. He also credits debunking myths about the area, among other initiatives. (It seems our Headless Horseman of West Dallas story we told at summer camp is finally catching on.) Other multifamily projects in the area include Wood Partners’ 201 units in Sylvan | Thirty as well as Trammell Crow Residential’s Alexan Trinity apartment development.
