Combine a love for the great outdoors and some networking and you have the Stewards of the Wild. The group of professionals, who are also outdoor enthusiasts, hosted the third annual State of Conservation Dinner at Old Parkland. The org advocates on behalf of various conservation initiatives and helps raise awareness (and money) for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, says Macfarlan Capital Partners partner Mac Macfarlan. Here are event speakers Pete Delkus of WFAA; Justin Trail, landowner and wildlife biologist (Commercial Insurance Solutions); Carter Smith, executive director of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department; Josh McKee, Stewards of the Wild advisory council chair (Veritex Community Bank); and Ivan Carter, conservationist and African professional hunter.
