Fort Worth nabbed a relocating California headquarters this month after amenities like less traffic congestion and solid freeway access helped the city beat out other DFW areas.

The relocating firm is an aluminum trim and building product manufacturer, Flannery Trim, which is moving its headquarters and distribution center from Southern California to Carter Industrial Park in Fort Worth.

The relocating headquarters/logistics center expects to lease 39K SF inside Carter Logistics Center Building A at 7424 Oak Grove Road.

The 4-decade-old firm will set up both its headquarters and distribution center inside the 87K SF facility, which is only a year old.

"Fort Worth has been attracting quite a bit of new business from new-to-market companies and relocations from within the metroplex," Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services' Nick Talley said.

Tenant improvements that launched this month include a 2K SF office for headquarters employees relocating from California.

CBRE's Scott Moore, Bob Scully and Brice Wells handled negotiations for the landlord, BRC III Carter Logistics Center LLC, while Talley represented the tenant.

Since 2019, the city of Fort Worth has been actively promoting the city as an affordable and attractive alternative to other Dallas areas attempting to land relocating firms. City leadership considers Fort Worth primed to secure corporate relocations even when competing with relocation juggernauts like Plano and Frisco.

Fort Worth boasts roughly 70,000 acres of developable land and has been promoting empty office space in its central business district since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
