Novak Construction Selling Future Lakeview Whole Foods Store

Mariano's Fresh Market has proven to be a golden buzzword for Chicago retail real estate investors. Here are three more words that raise investors' antennae: Whole Foods Market.

Novak Construction is courting buyers for Whole Foods' flagship store in Lakeview at 3201 North Ashland—a store that isn't expected to open until next spring. The target asking price can be as high as $70M, according to Crain's. And with recent transactions like DDR's $80M purchase of a Mariano's-anchored Lakeview shopping center at 3030 North Broadway, we wonder if Novak might be underestimating its ask.

Novak is expected to deliver the Whole Foods next March. Located one block south from Whole Foods' existing store, it will total 70k SF and 295 parking spaces below ground and on the first floor. [Crain's]
