Goose Island Gets Another Office Project

R2 Cos has yet another project planned for Goose Island, this time converting an existing industrial facility at 1200 N North Branch (pictured) into a contemporary commercial complex. The developer purchased the site for $8.2M, and plans to host high-tech offices, a distribution center or both. Managing principal Matt Garrison told Curbed of plans to renovate the 53k SF warehouse and add 30k SF. The resulting 85k SF space will have 30-foot ceilings and 300 feet of river frontage. However, Garrison is open to building vertically for the right tenant. Despite Goose Island's decaying infrastructure, developers and tenants like Amazon and Trunk Club see the diamond in the rough.
