What made it so special: His grandmother Marsha spent her golden years there, eating and enjoying lovely company in the same ballroom they dined in. Jay's Uncle Danny and Aunt Martha recently acquired the hotel with the dream of restoring it to its bygone grandeur, he tells us. (This was also the same dining room they were married in decades ago.) Her mom is notorious for cooking up a feast, and she and her three sisters helped prepare the beautiful meal. The best part about Jacquelyn's mom is her heart, she says. "Success does not come overnight in the business, so she has taught me the virtue of patience and is my No. 1 supporter," she says. At the office, Jacquelyn's seeing a trend of Class-C office buildings being converted into hotels or condos, along with the ever-present search for more collaborative and efficient work spaces.

Luxury Living Chicago Realty managing broker/owner Aaron Galvin and his mom Diane celebrated Mother’s Day weekend by taking in the views from the rooftop deck of Madison Aberdeen Place in the West Loop, a project he's exclusively leasing. The private rooftop decks have been a huge sell, getting the property 80% pre-leased in just under two months, he tells us. (Occupancy begins July 1.) “I love my mom because she instilled a strong work ethic and helped me appreciate the value of a dollar,” Aaron says. She supports his career by always expressing pride in his accomplishments. Plus, real estate runs in the family: Diane's father was an architect and developer.
