Another event we couldn't miss: the annual Successful Women in Commercial Real Estate Luncheonat Gibson's Steakhouse, hosted by the Chicago Association of Realtors Commercial Forum, with the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative, Roosevelt University and the Women’s Council of Realtors, Chicago Chapter. Pictured are the event's panelists: Millennium Properties' Susan Silver, Lawton Realty Group's Heidi Lawton, moderator Collete English Dixon of Prudential Real Estate Investors, Westfield's Velda Turan, and CBRE's Sharon Kahan. Among other insights, they pointed out that US malls are beginning to adopt a more European model by including groceries. (Might we see frites and sausage in the food court?) Research consistently shows the presence of a grocery increases the frequency of mall visits and length of shopping time.
