Nearly 26K SF of retail could come to East Boston’s Maverick Square if a developer gets approval from the Boston Planning & Development Agency.
Burlington-based Linear Retail Properties has proposed a two-story retail building at Chelsea and Maverick streets, the Boston Herald reports. A closed funeral home and three commercial buildings would be demolished to make way for the complex. It was previously reported Linear paid nearly $4M for the properties.
East Boston has become increasingly popular with multifamily residential developments sprouting up along its waterfront. The historically diverse neighborhood has become flooded with young professionals in such developments as the Eddy, a 16-story luxury apartment building, and promises more with the recently launched Slip65 condo development by Lendlease.
