With 90,000 people/year injured on construction sites—and 806 killed in 2012—here’s a shout out to the construction firms that have work safety programs and participated in the first nationwide “Safety Week.” The aim: raise awareness about the crucial importance of safety, share best practices, and inspire workers and companies to commit to them. At the $600M office/lab project for Novartis in Cambridge, 360 Skanska USA workers stretched and flexed for safety last week, a daily routine for the company in its offices and job sites nationwide.
