Piedmont Center, Fuqua Shake Hands on New Office

What are a couple of office rep guys doing hanging out with one of Atlanta's most prolific retail developers? Well, Fuqua Development has inked a 16,300 SF lease at Piedmont Center 15, moving from Building 11 in the same complex.

We caught up with Cushman & Wakefield's Will Porter and Kyle Kenyon along with Fuqua namesake Jeff Fuqua at the building to commemorate the recent deal. In fact, Fuqua is the largest in a string of recent deals the C&W duo have done at Piedmont Centers 1-4 and 15, including Syrup Marketing and Codesmith, both founded by Atlanta entrepreneur Benj Miller. In all, C&W secured more than 40k SF in deals since the year began for ownership Northwestern Mutual, Will says.

The other big deal was with DLH Holdings, which is moving from the 1776 Peachtree building to Piedmont Center 3 for 12,300 SF. The firm disclosed details of its 8.7-year lease in a recent SEC filing, including that it expects to pay $252k/year in rent at the start of its term, rising to $307k/year by the end. City Commercial Real Estate's Griff Sims repped Fuqua Development; T Dallas Smith & Co's Dexter Warrior repped DHL and Wm Leonard & Co's Bill Leonard brokered for Syrup and Codesmith.
