Griffin Capital Buys Austell MOB In Massive Portfolio Purchase

A Cobb County medical office building is among a massive portfolio of MOBs picked up by Griffin-American Healthcare's third REIT, which exceeds $200M. Griffin Capital released info on its acquisition with an SEC filing that includes seven integrated senior health campuses and three MOBs in five states for $244M. That purchase includes Austell Medical Office Building, a 39k SF MOB at 3672 Marathon Circle in Cobb County that was completed in 2008 and is fully leased to three tenants, including OrthoAtlanta. CBRE's Chris Bodnar and Lee Asher brokered the sale from a physician-ownership consortium.
