A group striving to create a center for global health has bought a new headquarters in DeKalb County.
The Task Force for Global Health raised $10M from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation and another $2M from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to help purchase 330 West Ponce de Leon Ave, the 90k SF office building owned and used by the DeKalb County government, for $12M.
The organization—Georgia's largest nonprofit, which focuses on addressing health problems in the developing world—plans to spend more to renovate the project. The Task Force hopes to raise $24M by the end of 2017. DeKalb plans to lease back three floors for the next five years. Officials say The Task Force also hopes to create additional space to bring in other global health nonprofits in the future.
