A Minnesota-based financial services company has selected Sandy Springs for a major office location.

Deluxe Corp. is expected to lease upward of 172K SF of office space somewhere in the Central Perimeter city, spending more than $10M on the build-out of the space, the Northside Neighbor reported.

Sandy Springs Economic Development Director Andrea Worthy revealed the identity of the company during the city council's online meeting Aug. 4. Prior to the meeting, local officials called the deal "Project Painted Lady" while Deluxe conducted a nationwide search for a new office location, the paper reported.

The council unanimously approved a package of incentives for Deluxe, including waivers for building permit fees and occupational taxes. What building the company is considering was not disclosed.

Deluxe is in the “final stages of due diligence of exploring locations” for a technology innovation center that will create more than 700 new jobs over three years, earning an average annual salary of $91,500, according to a Sandy Springs city staff report.

“This center will have a tremendous economic impact on the region, as the company has plans to host one to two customers a week, with each customer group ranging from three to fifteen individuals, who will be staying in local hotels and enjoying the amenities of the downtown area, including the restaurant and entertainment venues,” city officials wrote. “The Sandy Springs area is very attractive to the Company due to its proximity to these amenities. Several locations have made the short-list for this project, including in-state and out-of-state options.”
