Enercon Renews, Expands in Kennesaw

An international engineering firm's Kennesaw location is staying put—and growing as a new investor takes over its offices. Enercon has restructured its lease at Four Townpark Commons into 110k SF, with plans to expand into a 150k SF or more in the future, sources tell us. This has been the longtime home for Enercon, which moved there with some 25k SF initially in 2005. Enercon has been scouting the market for space for the past few months, having tapped Transwestern's transaction sciences team, led by Bradley Fulkerson and Clark Dean (here), who have snagged this big deal just two years into joining the firm's Atlanta office.

At the beginning of this past summer, MetLife began to market all of Townpark Commons for sale. When Transwestern Investment—an independent entity—purchased the 350k SF, four-building complex in September for $55M, the new owners negotiated with Enercon to keep it at the park. It also gave Enercon a pipeline of office space for future growth. Officials with Transwestern declined to comment.
