The Integral Group is going driverless in Doraville.

The developer plans to roll out an autonomous shuttle system at its Assembly mixed-use project on the site of the former General Motors plant that will connect the project to the Doraville MARTA station along a designated route using a guidance and detection system, company officials said in a release.

The system will include cameras, GPS, radar and laser range finders “to make driving decisions,” Integral officials said in the release.

Integral is in talks with several potential operators of the shuttle system, including French companies Navya and Easy Mile, as well as Phoenix-based Local Motors, officials said. Navya launched the first driverless shuttle system in the U.S. in Las Vegas last year.

Assembly could encompass 10M SF of multifamily, office, restaurants, retail and entertainment upon its full delivery. Already Third Rail Studios is operating a production studio at the site, and bedding maker Serta Simmons Bedding is underway with a 250K SF office building that will deliver next February.
