We ran as fast as we could to get a glimpse of the finishing touches on the Westin Peachtree Plaza. Construction firm Skanska has completed the year-long process of replacing all the windows at the iconic building (which has probably been in more Atlanta skyline snow globes than any other tower). Now comes the month-long process of removing the scaffolding, says Skanska SVP Al Gogolin. Westin replaced the windows after many were damaged in the 2008 tornado. Al says the new windows are an improvement on the old— twice as thick, shatter-proof, and up to 18% more energy efficient. |
